General Information and Safety Tips:

  • If you are seeking shelter or a safe place to sleep, call the housing hotline at 360-695-9677.
  • Keep a phone with you, even phones without service can make a 911 call.
  • When it's really cold or really hot outside, go to a shelter.
  • Essentials for cold weather: clean/dry socks and something to cover your hands and head.
  • Essentials for hot weather: sunscreen, water for hydration.

Phone and Email Scams

Scam calls and emails have been happening for years, targeting citizens with illegal schemes. 

Citizens have reported receiving calls and emails claiming to be from utility companies, courts or law enforcement agencies, threatening arrest unless a payment is made immediately. THIS IS A SCAM.

Camas Fire Station 41 Bond

Have you heard about the Camas Fire Station 41 Bond coming up in August?

Voters will have the opportunity to decide whether to fund the new fire station through a bond-approval during the August Primary Election. This approval would allow the sale of City-owned bonds to fund design and construction costs for the new facility. If the bond passes, construction could begin as soon as 2025.

Camas Public Library to Host Inaugural Children’s Author Event Celebrating Mary Pope Osborne’s Magic Treehouse

On May 20 beginning at 3:30 p.m., the Camas Public Library will hold their inaugural Children’s Author Event downstairs in the Children’s Library. This year’s event will coincide with the birthday of Mary Pope Osborne, the author of the Magic Treehouse series. The event will run until 5:30 p.m., providing two hours of themed activities and stations.

Camas Native, Bestselling Author and Artist Exhibits Work in Second Story Gallery

Kicking off May’s Second Story Gallery exhibit at the Camas Public Library, a reception for bestselling graphic novel artist and author Aron Nels Steinke will take place Friday, May 3, from 5-8 p.m. The artist will be on hand for the event.

City of Camas Accepting Applications for 2025 Lodging Tax Funds

Attention Camas! We’re currently accepting applications for Lodging Tax funds. The City uses lodging tax funds to support and encourage tourism and cultural activities in Camas.

Lacamas Lake Treatment Scheduled for Summer 2024

Following recommendations from the recently completed Lacamas, Round, and Fallen Leaf Lake Management Plan, the City is moving forward with chemical treatment of Lacamas Lake later this summer to help control the amount of phosphorus in the water which contributes to harmful algal blooms.
