The caller usually states that the resident missed a court date and has a bench warrant.  The caller also mentions specific Camas Police employees and/or judicial members from the local community.

Heavy Rains Forecasted - Sand and Sandbags Available

The City of Camas has made sand and sandbags available for emergency use to city residents at its Operations Center at 1620 SE 8th Avenue and at 4010 NW Astor Street, near NW 38th Avenue (bags to fill are in the garbage can).

These sandbagging locations are "self-serve” with shovels available for use. Sandbags should be filled only half full. Smaller bags pack tighter and are easier to handle, thus avoiding back injuries. Overfilled bags are unstable when stacked and can leave gaps that allow water to flow through.

Road Closures

Heavy rains overnight caused road closures. ALL ROADS ARE NOW OPEN.

Crews are responding to these to get them cleared as soon as possible and we will keep you informed as we can. Be safe out there!

NE 3rd Avenue near Joy Street: closed in both directions with traffic detoured around East First. EDIT: NOW OPEN
SW 6th Avenue near Trout: both directions closed. EDIT: NOW OPEN
NW McIntosh Road just west of Klickitat: debris on roadway. EDIT: NOW OPEN
NE Leadbetter near boat launch: debris on roadway. EDIT: NOW OPEN

Unauthorized Trail Construction

You may have noticed some signs over the weekend prohibiting construction around the trail system adjacent to Lacamas Park and south of the dams.  While we appreciate the enthusiasm for our biking and hiking trails and want public involvement, the recent modifications to the trail system in the area are causing environmental strain and pose a liability for the City.
