Camas Council Member Bonnie Carter to Resign from Position Feb. 3

Camas City Council Member Bonnie Carter announced that she will be stepping down as the Ward 2 Position 1 representative, effective February 7, 2025.     

Carter informed staff and Council of her decision at the Jan. 6, Council Meeting. Carter was sworn into office Feb. 2, 2015, and was then elected to her first full-term in November of 2015. Carter’s current term was set to expire, Dec. 31, 2027.

This budget will be presented to Council at the Dec. 2, 2024 City Council Regular Meeting for a Public Hearing and Adoption.

City of Camas Recognized With 2023 Wastewater Treatment Plant Outstanding Performance Award

The City of Camas has once again been recognized for its outstanding work in the area of wastewater. The Camas Wastewater Treatment Plant recently received the Washington State Department of Ecology 2023 “Wastewater Treatment Plant Outstanding Performance” award. Out of the 300 wastewater treatment plants across the state, Camas ranks among the top 118 selected as top performers.

Harmful Algal Bloom Warning Advisory Issued for Lacamas Lake 6/4/25

No Trash Collection Friday, July 4, 2025

Please note, there will be no garbage collection Friday, July 4, in honor of the Independence Day. Residents that have Friday garbage collection will be scheduled for pick-up, Monday, July 7, along with the regular Monday pick-up.

Well 13 Activated Due to Emergency Mechanical Situation

Attention! An emergency mechanical situation has caused two City drinking water wells to be non-functional at this time. Combined with the hot weather over the weekend, the City has had to turn on Well 13 as a precaution earlier than intended.  Well 13 will be the last well in rotation and will only be used if water consumption reaches a high level and the other City wells cannot keep up.

Camas Public Library Launches Nature-Smart Collection and Events

The Camas Public Library is pleased to announce the launch of its Nature-Smart Library. The initiative combines an innovative collection with programming, which together aim to bridge the gap between library enrichment and the great outdoors, offering patrons unique opportunities to explore, learn, and connect with nature.
