Second Story Gallery Welcomes Washougal Artist Travis London for Artist-in-Residence Program During the Month of May.

The Second Story Gallery, located in the Camas Public Library, is proud to announce its upcoming Artist-in-Residence Program featuring Washougal artist and educator Travis London. Known for his large-scale public murals depicting vivid nature scenes, London will engage the community through a month-long residency that includes a solo art exhibit, interactive workshops, and an artist talk. This residency is made possible by a grant from the Autzen Foundation.

City of Camas to Launch New Utility Billing Customer Portal April 21

City of Camas residents will have a new way to access their utility bills when the City launches the new Customer Utility Access Portal, Monday, April 21. The new customer portal is part of the City’s upgrades to the utility billing software, which is part of the larger Tyler ERP conversion project the City has been undergoing.

Martin Elzingre Chosen to Fill Vacant Ward 2 Camas Council Seat

Martin Elzingre will be the new Camas Ward 2 Council member. Elzingre was appointed by Council at a Special Meeting, April 8. Elzingre will fill the Ward 2 seat vacated in February by Bonnie Carter. Elzingre received a unanimous vote from all Council Members to confirm the appointment.

City of Camas Announces Chris Witkowski as New Parks and Recreation Director

Following a national search, the City of Camas announced that Chris Witkowski will be the next Director of Camas Parks and Recreation. Witkowski will assume the position effective Monday, May 5, 2025.

Dorothy Fox Elementary Hosts Annual City of Camas Egg Scramble

The Camas Parks and Recreation Department invites the community to the 34th annual egg hunt, “The Camas Egg Scramble!”  This special event will take place at Dorothy Fox Elementary School, 2023 NW 23rd Ave., on Easter Sunday, April 20, at 1:30 p.m.  All egg hunting areas start at the same time, unless modified for weather, so don’t be late!  Check out the event’s web page, below, for regular and modified hunt details.

City of Camas Recognized by ETC With “Leading The Way Award” for Ranking in Top 10% Nationally

The City of Camas ranks in the top 10% nationally for exceptional service delivery according to the ETC Institute. As such, the City was recognized with ETC Institute’s “Leading the Way Award.”

City of Camas to Introduce New Utility Bill Due Date as Part of New Software

Officials with the City of Camas are excited to announce the implementation of new utility billing software. The new software will have several new benefits including monthly billing and is anticipated to launch this April.

Second Story Gallery Exhibits “Roots of a Movement: Denis Hayes, Camas, and Earth Day”

The Camas Public Library is proud to announce its upcoming exhibit, Roots of a Movement: Denis Hayes, Camas, and Earth Day, opening in the Second Story Gallery, Friday, April 4. This special exhibit, presented in collaboration with the Camas Earth Day Society, will explore the origins of Earth Day and the pivotal role played by Camas native Denis Hayes in launching the environmental movement that continues to shape the world today.

Camtown Youth Festival Cancelled 2025.

After careful consideration to a number of changes in motion, it has been decided to cancel this year’s Camtown Youth Festival, which would have been held on Saturday, June 7 at Dorothy Fox Elementary School.   We know many of you look forward to this event and we will miss your participation this year at one of our favorite community events!
