We are ending our 2023-2024 Kid Librarians with Diya! Diya (7) is currently reading Ramona and Her Mother by Beverly Cleary and would recommend Charlotte's Web by E. B. White. She has a lot of classic and popular books on her display from Dr. Seuss to Mo Willems.
Our Kid Librarians will be back again in the fall. Until then, happy reading!
Skyler (age eight) and Madison (age 5) are our second-to-last Kid Librarians for the season. Their display has everything from the classic Dav Pilkey graphic novels to poetry to non-fiction books about sports and cats. One of Skyler's favorite things about the Library is the Story Explorers book club with Mr. Elliot. Madison would also like everyone to know that you can take your Grandma with you when you visit the Camas Library. We hope to see you (and your grandmas) soon!
We have another set of siblings for this week's Kid Librarian. Henry (7) and Emma (6) pulled all sorts of books for their display. We have picture books, non-fiction books about animals and sports, and graphic novels. There is truly something for everyone on these shelves! Henry and Emma are also big fans of audiobooks on the Libby app and Wonderbooks, which allow you to listen to the book as you read it!
This week's Kid Librarian is Finley (7). Finley's favorite part about visiting the Library is the books and the art gallery. She is currently reading The Adventures of the Bailey School Kids series by Debbie Dadey and Marcia Thornton Jones. Finley has some wonderful fantasy and mystery chapter books on her shelves. Come on down and check them out!
This week's Kid Librarian is Aolagi! Aolagi (11) is currently reading Isla to Island by Alexis Castellanos and recommends The War That Saved My Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. Her display has a little bit of everything - picture books, graphic novels, non-fiction, and middle grade books. Come on down and take a look. You might find your next read on her display!
Our Kid Librarians are back in the building now that the snow is almost all gone! Emma (6) is this week's Kid Librarian and just finished reading Emma's Turtle by Eve Bunting. That book, along with many other sweet picture books, are on her shelves and available to check out. Emma would also like to share that the Camas Library's Haunted House is the scariest in the whole world!
This week's Kid Librarian is Adeline! Adeline is currently reading My Father's Dragon by Ruth Stiles Gannett and is a big fan of the children's graphic novel section. She included several art pieces inspired by this year's Book Bowl books in her display and you'll see a few of those books on her shelves!
Our first Kid Librarian of 2024 is Zia! Zia (8) is currently reading Drama at Mouseford by Thea Stilton and loves coming to the library to check out new books. She chose some popular chapter book series to display, like Mindy Kim, Owl Diaries, and Sophie Mouse. Zia also included one of our nature kits to add to her shelves. Happy New Year to all of our readers, big and small!
