Garbage and recycling services will not take place today, Friday, Feb. 12, due to inclement weather. Residents with trash services scheduled for Friday, should plan on having their refuse picked up next Friday as scheduled. Please note, there will also be a Holiday Monday which will impact pickup. The City of Camas will have no trash service tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 16, due to poor road conditions. Normally scheduled service will resume next week for residents who had trash pickup scheduled for today or tomorrow. Extra bags will be accepted due to weather related cancellations.
Residents who had trash service scheduled for Friday, Feb. 12, can expect normal trash service this Friday, feb. 19.
Federal Coronavirus Relief Funds were disseminated to cities to help maintain essential public services during the pandemic. The funding amount was determined by City population. City of Camas received $722,700. To help us allocate these funds, we are asking citizens to try out our new software called Balancing Act.

Each year the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provides Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to be used for projects and activities that serve low to moderate income populations. CDBG funds are awarded through a competitive process through Clark County Community Development. Camas competes with other municipalities in Clark County for a small pool of available funds. Proposed projects usually include rehabilitation of two or three blocks of public streets, sidewalks and curb ramps. See past projects before and after pictures below.
The Camas City Council has approved the acquisition of 115 acres of land on the west side of Green Mountain adjacent to Ingle Road in Camas with the intent of preserving it as open space.
The City of Camas provides scheduled curbside refuse collection services for residential households, public schools, public buildings and business in Camas. Residential curbside sites are collected either once a week, or every other week pick up, depending on individual need. Commercial pick up is available five times a week Monday-Friday.
