Fire Department Training: House Burn Notification

Fire Department Training Flyer

The Camas-Washougal Fire Department will be conducting a training burn at 1811 Hood Street on Wednesday, December 16th from 8am to approximately 2pm. While we don’t anticipate any significant road closures or detours, we do encourage people to avoid the area in order to limit traffic congestion.

The purpose of this exercise is to provide training to your firefighters under realistic conditions. They will be practicing search and rescue skills along with fire attack, ventilation, and exposure protection activities. These exercises allow firefighters to hone their skills, helping to assure that they are ready when a real fire emergency occurs. A fire department officer will be at the burn location until the fire is considered to no longer pose a significant hazard. The fire may, however, continue to smoke for up to 24 hours following the burn.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Fire Marshal’s Office at 360-834-6191 or FMO@cityofcamas.us.
