Meet the Staff- Kary Wilson

Kary is originally from Iowa and lived in North Carolina and Missouri before deciding to move to the PNW with her husband and three children to be closer to family. When trying to find a house, they looked at a lot of different areas around the Vancouver area, but nothing felt right. On a whim, they decided to look at Camas and fell in love with the town and all it had to offer.

Meet the Staff- Carnita Dominguez

When Carnita isn’t chasing after her 4 year old son and two fur babies she’s reading and sharing her journey on Instagram, baking for her loved ones and spending time with family.

She loves learning new things and you can often find her collecting crafting materials, teaching herself how to use them, and creating a few pieces before moving on to her next artistic adventure. She’s taught herself how to knit, crochet, hand stitch embroidery and much more!

Meet the Staff- Danielle Reynolds

Danielle grew up in Massachusetts and moved to California for her college years. Her first job was working for her mom’s small wholesale flower company when she was 10 years old. She’s been a librarian since 2009, working in Paradise, California, before moving to Rapid City, South Dakota, to move into library management. She always loved the PNW, so the goal was to move back to this area and Washington was where she set her heart upon. She couldn’t have asked for a better place to settle.

Meet the Staff- John Goaring

John has been with the Library since 2003, and has worked as a Page, Library Assistant and is currently the Circulation Services Specialist. He came to the beautiful state of Washington from the most humid place on the planet, St. Louis, Missouri.

He is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. Go Big Blue! Worked in St. Louis as a bartender/bouncer and spent many years as a Library Assistant with the Missouri Historical Society and Research Center.

Meet the Staff- Colleen Kawamura

After living in Texas for 12 years, part-time Library Aide Colleen Kawamura recently moved back to the Pacific Northwest to be near family. She enjoys reading magazines (especially The Economist), and both fiction and nonfiction books & audiobooks. She’s always up for trying different genres, and in the past couple years has discovered that graphic novels can be pretty cool. Other than reading, her favorite thing is taking walks with her dog, a feisty corgi/shepherd mix named Joy.

Meet the Staff- Vanessa Perger

Vanessa started at the Library in 2018. She has worked in many different roles, and is now our Programming Librarian. Her favorite thing about her job is finding new ways to engage the community in activities that are both fun and educational.

Meet the Staff- Christopher Knipes

Christopher began working at the Library as a Volunteer and was actively involved in our RFID tagging initiative. From a Volunteer, he moved to a Substitute Library Page and from there to a part-time Page. At this point, Christopher divided his time between the Library and his work-at-home position as a Virtual Assistant, in which he supported six virtual clients across three time zones.

Meet the Staff- Leah Burch

Leah came to us with a background in academic libraries but always knew that public libraries was where she belonged. When Leah is not at the library, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, listening to podcasts (mostly of the murder variety), and knitting.
