Bring the whole family down for some Downtown Camas trick or treating, Wednesday, October 29th, 2025 from 3-5pm. Local businesses give out candy or neat Halloween prizes to all the kiddos. Seeing all the kids (and many parents, too!) dressed in costume is exceptionally fun. Always a few surprises as well! Come and enjoy your community! RAIN OR SHINE, WE WILL SEE YOU THERE!
You’re never too young (or too old!) to start writing. Whether you want to entertain, teach, dream up new worlds, or rewrite history, your voice matters.
Maybe you're not sure how to begin. Maybe you don’t think you have the skills yet. That’s okay—every writer starts somewhere.
Join J. Todd McMillan, author of 9 exciting books for young readers, as he shows you how fun and easy writing can be.
By the end of this workshop, you'll have started your first masterpiece—and taken your first steps as a real writer.
Working on a novel or other project? Join us every Monday at 2:30 p.m. for quiet, dedicated writing time this National Novel Writing Month - November 2025.
Be our next Kid Librarian! Kid Librarians will have a designated shelf in the Library for their books and artwork; they also will be featured on our social media sites in pictures or videos. Share things like the books you are reading, reimagined cover art, or a video book review.
Please note, while Mondays are the only days listed, the availability is for the full week. For example, if you sign up for Monday, November 3, your child will be the star Kid Librarian for November 3-7. We also highly encourage siblings to share one week due to the popularity of the program.
We are looking for volunteers aged 14-17 to help with kids games and to perform in our Haunted Library's Spider Room / Creepy Stairwell on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
Performers will need to be able to provide your own costumes and makeup. We will need:
Volunteers in the Spider Room to wear all black.
Volunteers in the Creepy Stairwell to be comfortable performing jump scares.
Various time slots available from 4:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
Haly moved to the PNW in the winter of 2024. Finally freed from the scorching heat of Texas, she is enjoying getting the chance to be outside without feeling like she is engaging in deadly combat with the sun itself. Recently graduated from her MLS program (with a concentration in youth services), Haly is enjoying the freedom to read for pleasure instead of only reading for her classes. In her free time, she likes to game (video games, board games, ttrpgs), craft (knit, crochet, embroider, spin yarn) and nap with her dogs.
