As the City continues to grow the staffing functions and responsibilities also change. The City's Organizational Chart is a general chart which reflects the structure of the City's services and resources. This chart has changed over the years and is in a constant state of review.

Camas Washougal Municipal Court

Our lobby is open to the public on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with a maximum occupancy of 4 people.

About the City's Budget Process

The City of Camas prepares an annual budget for all functions and activities of the City. The annual budget process is a lengthy, formal process for the Mayor, City Council, and City staff. The general process includes the following procedures:

City Budget Current and Past

The City has two sites where financial information can be accessed, Camas Open Budget and Camas Open Spending. This will allow the City to share financial information through an "open data" portal. These portals help to foster engagement and make City finances more transparent with its residents.

Salary Commission

Purpose

Reviews the relationship of salaries to the duties of the Mayor and City Council Members.

Membership

Four members appointed by the Mayor and subject to confirmation by the City Council.

Term & Residency Requirements

Four-year terms. Members must reside within, and are registered voters of, the City of Camas.

Parks and Recreation Commission

Purpose

Advises the City Council on matters related to parks, recreation and open space within the City of Camas.

Membership

Seven member appointed by the Mayor and subject to confirmation by the City Council.

Term & Residency Requirements

Three-year terms. Members must reside within, and be registered voters of, the City of Camas.

Parking Advisory Committee

Purpose

Advises the City on parking policy and program implementation within the downtown commercial zone.

Membership

Seven members appointed by the Mayor and subject to confirmation by the City Council.

Term & Residency Requirements

Four- year terms. Members must reside or own property within the City, or are officers in a business within the downtown commercial zone.

Lodging Tax Advisory Committee

Purpose

Review proposed changes to the lodging tax rate, tax exemptions, and use of the tax. Tax proceeds may be used for tourism promotion, acquiring and operating tourism-related facilities, and other services authorized by state law.

LEOFF Disability Board

Purpose

Law Enforcement Officers and Firefighters (LEOFF) Disability Board adopts rules and regulations related to mandated benefits provided to law enforcement officers and firefighters hired under LEOFF I provisions.

Membership

Five members consisting of two elected officials appointed by the Mayor; one active or retired LEOFF I law enforcement officer and firefighter; and one member of the public, who is appointed by the other four members of the meeting body.

Hearings Examiner

Purpose

Conducts hearings and makes decisions by applying city code and regulations adopted by City Council. Hearings Examiners have jurisdiction over a wide range of matters, including land-use applications. Hearings Examiners are not city staff, but private attorneys who serve as impartial third parties; ensuring fairness and due process by making independent fact-finding decisions in a public forum.
