TheCity of Camas has once again been recognized for its outstanding work in the area of wastewater. The Camas Wastewater Treatment Plant recently received the Washington State Department of Ecology 2024 “Wastewater Treatment Plant Outstanding Performance” award. Out of the 300 wastewater treatment plants across the state, Camas ranks among the top performers.
Attention! An emergency mechanical situation has caused two City drinking water wells to be non-functional at this time. Combined with the hot weather over the weekend, the City has had to turn on Well 13 as a precaution earlier than intended. Well 13 will be the last well in rotation and will only be used if water consumption reaches a high level and the other City wells cannot keep up.

Have you heard about the Camas Fire Station 41 Bond coming up in August?
Voters will have the opportunity to decide whether to fund the new fire station through a bond-approval during the August Primary Election. This approval would allow the sale of City-owned bonds to fund design and construction costs for the new facility. If the bond passes, construction could begin as soon as 2025.
On May 20 beginning at 3:30 p.m., the Camas Public Library will hold their inaugural Children’s Author Event downstairs in the Children’s Library. This year’s event will coincide with the birthday of Mary Pope Osborne, the author of the Magic Treehouse series. The event will run until 5:30 p.m., providing two hours of themed activities and stations.
