Fire Inspections

The FMO annually inspects commercial, industrial, and public buildings for fire hazards. Fire hazards may be reported to the fire department by calling 360-834-6191.

Fire Watch

A fire watch is the action of an on-site person whose sole duty is to watch for the occurrence of fire. Building owners, or their representatives may be required by the Camas-Washougal Fire Department (CWFD) to provide a fire watch.  Further details may be found in our Fire Watch Informational Bulletin

Fireworks Booths

The Fire Marshal Office regulates retail sales of fireworks in Camas and Washougal. All booths are issued permits and inspected for compliance with state and local fire codes. For more information visit the National Council of Fire Works Safety website.

Hazardous Vegetation

The fire prevention division is responsible for inspecting land that has an accumulation of tall grass or brush.

New Construction

By permit, fire and life safety plan reviews and inspections are conducted on all new construction projects in Camas and Washougal. Permits are also issued for all fire alarms and sprinkler systems installed in Camas and Washougal.

Public Education and Safety

The Camas-Washougal Fire Department is committed to ensuring we have the safest possible community through our public education and prevention program.  Each year the Fire Marshal's Office, on-duty fire crews and volunteer firefighters provide a variety of safety and public education programs to our citizens of all ages.  It is our privilege to connect with our citizens in meaningful ways including our many classroom visits, station tours and participation in numerous community events including our annual Open House each September.
