Camas Parks and Recreation Seeks Volunteer "Zombies" for Inaugural Zombie Dash Fun Run

The City of Camas Parks and Recreation department is calling on thrill-seekers to trade in their running shoes for zombie makeup as it seeks volunteers to chase, dodge and dart after participants in its first-ever Zombie Dash Fun Run.

The free community event takes place Saturday, Oct. 17, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Legacy Lands Rose Property, 215 SE Leadbetter Rd. Runners will navigate a 1.25-mile obstacle course while trying to keep hold of flags meant to represent their survival — and that's where the volunteer zombies come in.

Volunteers will chase participants along the course and attempt to snag their flags between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Zombies must be at least 12 years old, provide their own costume and be ready to bring plenty of energy to the role. Makeup will be provided on-site.

"We need people who are ready to have fun and get into character," said Jacquie Hill, Camas Parks and Rec’s Special Events Coordinator. "Volunteering as a zombie is a great way to be part of the event without running the course yourself, and it helps make the experience even more exciting for our participants."
