Meet the Staff- Christopher Knipes

photo of Christopher Knipes

Christopher began working at the Library as a Volunteer and was actively involved in our RFID tagging initiative. From a Volunteer, he moved to a Substitute Library Page and from there to a part-time Page. At this point, Christopher divided his time between the Library and his work-at-home position as a Virtual Assistant, in which he supported six virtual clients across three time zones.

Christopher parlayed his hard work, love of books, and business acumen into his current positions: Executive Assistant to Library Director Connie Urquhart, and Administrative Support Assistant to the Library Staff. His duties include high-level support to Director Urquhart, in addition to event coordination, Hotspot management, invoicing, and payroll. Christopher manages all things building-related, as well as supporting the rest of the Library staff in various functions. He is also caregiver to the more than 100 plants dispersed throughout the Library, and as a member of the Staff Engagement Team (SET).

When Christopher is not at the Library, he enjoys reading and watching movies. He counts Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Anne Rice among his favorite authors.

The next time you visit the Library stop in at the second-floor admin office and say hi! Christopher will be happy to see you.
