Summer Reading is in Full Swing!

Summer Reading is in Full Swing!

June 29, 2021 - Summer Reading has gotten off to a great start this year! The badge books having been flying out the door, and our programs have been well attended. Don’t worry if you missed some of the programs, as many of our virtual programs that have occurred were recorded. For instance the recording of Red Yarn’s lively performance from June 12, which will be available until the end of August.

Oregon's Amazing Animals

There are still lots more events to enjoy! For example, The Museum of Natural and Cultural History has created a fun, take-home science activity, Oregon’s Amazing Animals, that is available for pickup starting July 1. Click here to learn more about the event then swing on by the Library to pick up a kit for your family.

Upcycled Totes

Another fun activity the Library is offering in July is Upcycled Totes for Teens. This craft is so cool. Participants will receive a T-shirt from a previous Summer Reading Program with a “vintage” summer reading logo on it, and transform it into a tote bag. All materials are provided, and here’s the amazing part: there’s no sewing needed. Learn more about the event here.

Virtual Show and Tell

And don’t forget our Virtual Show & Tell. This is a recurring event every Friday at 10 a.m. throughout the summer. Register and talk about what you’ve been reading during our Summer Reading Program.
