Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture

Schomburg Center

March 19, 2021 - The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, one of The New York Public Library’s renowned research libraries, is located in Harlem. It is a world-leading cultural institution devoted to the research, preservation, and exhibition of materials focused on African American, African Diaspora, and African experiences.* They offer online exhibits; a blog; reading lists for kids, teens, and adults; and virtual programming.

The Center is currently closed due to COVID-19, but luckily for us there are a number of ways to access it remotely. You can book a virtual consultation, use the Scan & Deliver service, access their remote collections and services, and also directly call the librarians who work there. It is an excellent resource, and I encourage everyone to check it out.
