Participate in the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Program

10.29.21 – Greetings everyone! I hope you are enjoying the rain and the cooler temperatures. In this post I will highlight a program that we offer throughout the year, but it’s one that you may not have heard about.  It’s called 1000 Books Before Kindergarten. It’s a great program that helps your child succeed by strengthening their language skills and vocabulary simply by reading to them.

It’s very straightforward!

Simply read to your child and keep track of the number of books you’ve read. The goal is to reach 1000 books before they enter Kindergarten. Once you get to 1000 books you can bring in your reading log and get a certificate of completion and a free book!

We’ve revamped our reading log and you can pick up one at the Library or print one out at home.

You can find log sheets to print at home HERE.

With the rain and cooler temperatures here, now is a perfect time to grab a stack of books from the Library, find a cozy spot on the couch, and read to your child. We encourage you to participate in this fun program that will help your child grow and promote bonding through reading.
