Favorite Online Resources

Favorite Online Resources

May 29, 2020 - Although we offer dozens of online resources on our website, I have a few that are my personal favorites. (By they way, “online resources” is another way of saying “databases”, which is another way of saying we subscribe so you get access for free. “Online Resources” are NOT regular websites!)

Here are my top three Online Resources that I love and use all the time, both in my professional and personal life: Consumer Reports, Legal Forms Library, and NoveList Plus. Here is a short summary of why I like them so much…

Consumer Reports

Remember Consumer Reports magazine? This has all the same content and loads more! Keyword searching makes looking for the recommendations and advice you need very quick and easy.

Legal Forms Library

Need a blank legal form, and/or with sample info? Look here! Wills, Advance Directives, and leasing documents are some of the most popular. Has state-specific forms as well as lots of legal advice.

NoveList Plus

Get reading recommendations for kids, teens, and adults. I frequently use author or title read-a-likes, and search by genre or keywords. Has many “Best of…” lists, too. Love that it has fiction AND non-fiction!

There are many more personal favorites that I almost included in this list, including Ancestry Library Edition, Chilton Auto Repair Library, Lynda, and Opposing Viewpoints in Context. Check them out on the Library’s website too!
