Animals Online

animals online

January 15, 2021 - Everyone loves watching cute animals, right? It’s amazing  that many zoos, aquariums, sanctuaries, and other animal parks around the world have webcams set up so visitors can get an up-close-and-personal experience without even leaving their home. Not all of these live webcams operate around the clock, so be sure to check for hours of operation. Here are a few highlights:

Audubon

Do you love bird watching but hate to be outside? This is the site for you!

Bronx Zoo / New York Aquarium

Two locations for the price of one!

Georgia Aquarium

They have a tank with a WHALE SHARK! Oh my goodness, they  are huge!

Houston Zoo

Has a Leafcutter Ant Cam. How cool is that?

Hummingbird Spot

All the hummingbird action you could ask for.

Monterey Bay Aquarium

There are several cams to choose from, including narrated feeding times. Some of the cams have lovely relaxing music playing. My personal favorite are the jelly cams. I was fortunate enough to take my then seven-year-old daughter to the Monterey Bay Aquarium right before the pandemic hit, and its jelly exhibit is magical.

Recke, Germany

Just a regular person who set up a backyard cam for local birds and critters. Has 4K footage.

The San Diego Zoo

Has many cams set up, but I’m partial to the Burrowing Owl Cams because they are so small and cute.

Shedd Aquarium

A mesmerizing collection of brightly-colored reef fish.

Smithsonian National Zoo

Has a Naked Mole-rat Cam. Need I say more?

Zoos Victoria

Scroll down on their page to get to all the animal cams. The Butterfly Cam always has something going on during the day.

Also, explore.com has many, many other animal webcams to discover!

If you want to learn more about any of the animals you see, we have hundreds of books about thousands of animals for your enjoyment! Call us at 360-834-4692 or visit our catalog to place books on hold.
