Library Card Sign-Up Month!

Library Card Sign-Up Month

8.24.22 – Did you know that September is Library Card Sign-Up Month? Each September the Library Staff encourages as many people as they can to sign up for a Library Card. The more members of the community that have Library cards, the better.

Why you may ask? What is the point of having a Library card?? Great question! The Camas Public Library is YOUR Library, and having a card is your ticket to accessing many of the services that are available to you. Also, anyone can get one and it’s very easy to sign up. You can sign up for one in-person at the Library or apply for one online. Library Staff will even mail you your new Library card.

Here’s a partial list of materials you can access with your Camas Public Library card:

  • Audiobooks
  • Books
  • Book Discussion Kits
  • Chromebooks (in-library use)
  • DVDs
  • Ebooks
  • Eaudiobooks
  • Magazines
  • Mirco:bit and Mirco:Rover kits
  • Naturepacks
  • Newspapers
  • Research Databases, including Consumer Reports, Novelist, and News Bank.
  • STEM Kits
  • Wi-Fi Hotspots

You don’t need a Library card to visit the Library or to participate in one of the many programs, but having one will make your experience of using the Library so much better.

Raffle Prize!

Also, if you sign up for a Library card in September you will be entered to win a raffle prize! At the end of the month a name will randomly be drawn from everyone who signed up in September, and that lucky person will win a Library tote bag, a mug, and a puzzle.

NEW Reading Dragon Library Card

Also, if you or your child has participated in our Reading Dragons program, here is some exciting news: There is a new Library Card design featuring the winner of our Reading Dragons coloring contest! You can pick this new design starting on Sept. 7. We’ll also be doing a Reading Dragon Kick-off Party where you can pick up a Reading Dragon Library Card, as well as pick up your reading tracker for the school year.

Here's a preview of the new Reading Dragons Library Card:

So, this September the Library Staff encourages everyone who doesn’t have a Library card to sign up!
