Meet the Camas Public Library's very first Kid Librarians! Leilani (8), Kai (6), James (4), and Lila (2) created some incredible artwork depicting scenes from their favorite books. Their display will be up in the Children's Room all this week. Swing by the Library and take a peek!

Say hello to 8-year-old Lisa, this week's Kid Librarian! Lisa's creative and thoughtful display has lots of recommendations for fantasy fans and graphic novel enthusiasts. Lisa included a piece of book art as well as a couple of original art pieces! Can you spot them on the display?

Let's give a big, warm welcome to this week's Kid Librarian - Violet! Violet (6) is new to Camas and told us she is excited to get to know her new library. She picked a wonderful selection of books for all types of readers. A Kid Librarian indeed!

This week, our featured Kid Librarian is Pidge! Pidge (9) has created an amazing display of her favorite books along with some original artwork. Can you figure out what the pictures of her book recommendations spell out? (Hint: it's something she really likes to do!) Welcome Pidge!

Kid Librarian - Claire C.

This week's Kid Librarian is Claire (7)! Claire is a big fan of illustrator Ed Emberley and shared the covers of a few of her favorite Emberley coloring books with us. She also wrote a fabulous review of the "100 Dresses" series by Susan Maupin Schmid. We made extra copies so come pick up her review during your next visit!

Kid Librarian - Ellie K.

Ellie (6) is this week's Kid Librarian! Some of her favorite authors are Dr. Seuss, Jory John, and Mo Willems. She wants to let you know the Camas Library is "a fun place filled with the best books and people. Getting a library card was easy and I even got to pick my own card!" Swing by today and find out for yourself how easy it is to sign up for a library card. Thanks for the advice, Librarian Ellie!

Kid Librarian - Ben A.

Ben (7) is this week's Kid Librarian and we couldn't be more excited! His favorite part about visiting the Camas Library (aside from reading books) is borrowing the DVDs for his family's movie night. He recommends a lot of great graphic novel series including "The Super Sidekicks" by Gavin Aung Than and "The Bad Guys" by Aaron Blabey.

Kid Librarian - Kyla I.

We are excited to introduce this week's Kid Librarian: Kyla! Kyla is 10 years old and loves sitting in our comfy chairs and reading the books she has borrowed. Her favorites include the "Wings of Fire" series by Tui Sutherland and the "Science Comics" graphic novels. She encourages everyone to visit the library, especially if you've never been here before!

Kid Librarian - Sophia H.

Say hello to Sophia, this week's Kid Librarian! Sophia is 8 and is a big fan of the "Phoebe and Her Unicorn" graphic novel series by Dana Simpson. When asked what she would like other people to know about the Camas Library, she said, "The Camas Public Library is not just for checking out books, you can go there for a quiet place to relax. I have been coming to events and storytimes here since I was a baby!" We're so happy to have you at our Library, Sophia!

Kid Librarian - Eleanor V.

It's our pleasure to introduce Eleanor as this week's Kid Librarian. Eleanor loves reading mythological tales and stories of perseverance like "Diana and the Underworld Odyssey" by Aisha Saeed. Eleanor will be turning 6 next week and to celebrate, we are giving away free books! Just show us your library card and you can take home as many books as you can carry. Happy early birthday, Eleanor!

Presenting Emma, this week's Kid Librarian! Emma is 7 and she is a huge bookworm. We love to see it! Her list of favorite books is incredibly varied and has a little something for everyone. Come on down to the Library - we're positive you'll find a book worth reading on Emma's shelves!

This week we have another Kid Librarian with a recent birthday! Kenna just turned 6 and we are so excited to display her beautiful artwork and favorite books. Say hello to this week's Kid Librarian, Elle. It's been Birthday Central the past few months here at the Kid Librarian shelves! Elle just turned 8 and is currently reading "Star Wars". If you're looking for your next read, check out the "Ivy & Bean" series. They get 5 stars from Elle!

Our Kid Librarian program is quickly winding down for the winter but before we say goodbye to our weekly features, please say hello to Emma! Emma, age 9, is this week's Kid Librarian. She is currently reading The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan and is a fan of Geronimo Stilton and Nancy Drew. Her display has a great mix of graphic novels and contemporary fiction. Stop on by the Library this week and check it out!

We are so excited to introduce Marko as this week's Kid Librarian. Marko (11) is an avid listener of audiobooks and enjoys both fiction and non-fiction books about space. Marko's display is wonderfully informative and interactive. He has some information about reading with dyslexia and left toys out - come on down to the Library and play!
