Free Tax Help

AARP Tax-Aide will be at the Camas Public Library on Mondays from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and Fridays from 1-5 p.m. from February 5 to April 15 (no service on February 19, March 1, and April 5).

Appointments and walk-ins are accepted at this site.

The AARP Tax-Aide program, administered by the AARP Foundation in cooperation with the IRS, provides free income tax assistance to ALL eligible taxpayers, regardless of age or income level.

Trained volunteers are available to prepare and e-file your Federal and Oregon personal income tax returns. We also can e-file the new WA Working Family Tax Credit application for you.

However, volunteers cannot help you if you:

  • Sold/exchanged any digital assets in 2023 (ok if you just bought and held)
  • have a business with employees, inventory, net loss, total expenses over $35,000 or have income from a hobby
  • want to file Married Filing Separately
  • have any rental income other than from undeveloped land with no structures
  • a bankruptcy or home foreclosure
  • are filing a Part-Year Oregon Return (we file Non-resident and Full Year Resident Oregon returns only) or any other state return
  • are a student on a F1, J, M or Q visa or a teacher or trainee on a J Visa
  • have a bankruptcy or home foreclosure in 2023

Other complex situations exist which we may not be able to assist you with as well. Volunteers will review your materials for these situations at the site. Tax returns are electronically filed as a free service by Tax-Aide.

Be sure to bring the following:

  • Government issued photo ID for you and your spouse (driver’s license or passport)
  • Social security cards or ITINs for any people listed on your return, including all dependents.
  • All of your 2023 tax documents
  • Your 2022 tax return, if available
