Cooking the Books: Tea

May 19, 2023 – It’s tea time! Welcome to another installment of Cooking the Books! I used to love making sweet tea when the weather warms up but recently I’ve been making batches and batches of Thai tea. The creaminess plus the little extra caffeine turns this chilled drink into the perfect summer afternoon pick-me-up.

 

This Thai iced tea recipe from Hungry Huy is simple although you will need a tea strainer. You can get Thai tea mixes from most Asian markets (I like going to Sorya Asian Market in Vancouver) or online. Condensed milk can usually be found in the baking aisle at most grocery stores.
