Book Club To Go!
What is a Book Discussion Kit?
Everything you need for your book discussion group all in one box. Each box contains:
- Multiple copies of one title
- Discussion questions
- Sign out sheet
How can my book group use a kit?
- Review the list of available titles
- Walk in, call, or place a hold through the library’s online catalog
- Check out books to your group
How was the library able to start this service?
The Friends of the Camas Library funded the purchase of the books, originally for the library’s book discussion groups, and also purchased the boxes in which the kits are stored.
How do I place a hold on a kit?
In the online catalog, search for a specific title or leave search fields blank and click "Search" to get a list of all available kits. Click on “Place Hold,” or call the library and ask them to place the hold for you.
How long can I keep a kit?
A kit is checked out to one book group member who is responsible for all of the materials. The kits check out for 12 weeks and may be renewed if there are no holds pending. Please return kits promptly so they will be available for other book groups.
What if a kit is lost or damaged?
If an entire kit is lost or damaged the member who checked it out will be responsible for the replacement cost. If a single book is lost or damaged, you may replace it with a matching copy of the title (new, or used if in clean and readable condition), or you may pay the replacement price.
