The Camas Public Library is seeking applicants for Library Associate. This position will work 40 hours per week, Monday through Saturday and the hours will vary. Evening work may be required. The position is eligible for a full benefits package and is represented by the Local 11 OPEIU bargaining unit.

User experience (UX) is at the core of the two open Library Associate positions, which focus heavily on providing programs for patrons of all ages, especially kids and teens. Library Associates greet patrons with a smile and make them feel welcome in our Library. They help them find the right book, navigate technology, and guide them through research. They curate creative displays to help patrons choose their next book or learn more about a specific topic. They must enjoy helping people.

Candidates for this position shall have:

  • High school degree, with college preferred
  • Computer literacy with MS office proficiency preferred
  • Customer service experience preferred

Sufficient mobility to work in a library setting and operate office equipment is required, including extensive and recurring walking, standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching and regular lifting of moderately heavy items.
